  Programs to Keep you Healthy

    Medical Care:

    To provide an important source of protection and security for you and your family. GTL offers two health care options to meet your medical needs. The first is a Health Maintenance Organization plan through Blue Cross/Blue Shield. The second is an indemnity plan through GTL. The GTL Medical plan offers a Medical Savings Account which allows additional flexibility.

    Dental Care:

    To provide you and your family with two options for dental care. We offer an HMO-style option through First Commonwealth. First Commonwealth provides this coverage through a network of over 1,000 private practice dentists located throughout the metropolitan area. We also offer a PPO-style option through First Commonwealth. With the PPO Plan, you have the option of going to an in-network PPO dentist or an out-of-network PPO dentist. When choosing an in-network PPO dentist the level of benefits will increase.

    Vision Care:

    To help you pay expenses associated with eye care. The plan provides coverage for exams, lenses, frames, and contact lens expenses.

    Discount Pharmacy:

    To enable you to save money on name brand and generic prescription drugs. Your Vantage card guarantees that you'll get specially--negotiated discount rates or the retailer's lowest available price that day--whichever is lower--on most prescription drug at more than 35,000 participating pharmacies nationwide.

  Programs to Build your Financial Security

    401(k) Plan

    To assist you in establishing an investment plan that can help to meet your retirement needs. By contributing to a tax-deferred plan, you reduce your taxable income and you defer paying taxes on your contributions.

    Profit Sharing

    To provide you with an opportunity to share GTL's financial success. Depending on profits each fiscal year, GTL will make a fiscal year-end contribution based on your total pay.

    Financial Planning

    To offer suggestions and guidance to help you make informed financial decisions regarding your retirement savings. Our employees are invited to attend financial planning seminars offered throughout the year. As part of the 401(k) program we also offer the opportunity to meet one on one with a financial planner to discuss your 401(k) investments as well as your entire investment portfolio.

  Programs to Protect Your Income

    Sick Pay and Short Term Disability (STD)

    To assist you in meeting your financial obligations by providing you with continued income for illness or injury. Full-time and part-time employees working more than 19 hours per week are eligible for sick pay after 30 days of continuous service. Full-time and part-time employees working more than 19 hours per week are eligible for Short Term Disability the January 1st prior to three years of continuous service. Employee contributions are not required for Short Term Disability.

    Long-Term Disability (LTD)

    To help assure a continuing income when, due to illness or injury, an employee is no longer able to work. Long Term Disability covers disability sustained on or off the job and lasting longer than three months. The Plan will pay you an income equivalent to 60% of your base salary if you become disabled for three months or more.

    Life Insurance

    To provide you and your survivors with financial security in the event of your death. GTL provides basic life insurance to full-time employees. Employee contributions are not required for Basic Life Insurance. GTL also offers Supplemental Life Insurance as an affordable way to complete your insurance program.

    Personal Accident Insurance

    To protect your family's financial security at an economical cost in the event that you or your family members become seriously injured or die in an accident. You may choose to purchase Personal Accident Insurance for you and your family.

    Vacation

    To provide paid time away from work. New employees working full-time will accrue vacation after completing six months of service. If you complete your initial six months of service prior to October first of a given year, you will accrue 36 hours of vacation for use until January first. On January first, you will accrue 72 hours of vacation. If you complete your initial six months of service between October second and December thirty first you will accrue 72 hours of vacation on the following January first. If you complete your initial six months of service after January first, you will accrue 36 hours of vacation. The January first of the following year you will accrue 72 hours of vacation. Employees accrue vacation based on their length of service and employee category. Part-time employees are also eligible for vacation.

    Personal Days

    To provide paid time away from work to attend to personal/family matters. All full-time and part-time employees are granted one personal day following 90 days of continuous service if hired before July 1st. All full-time and part-time employees are granted two personal days on January 1st following their hire date and each January 1st thereafter.

    Holidays

    To recognize national holidays. GTL grants full-time and part-time employees a total of seven paid holidays. When Christmas and New Year's Day are on a Tuesday or Thursday, the Company will close on the Monday preceding or the Friday following the holiday.

    Jury Duty

    To enable to you to serve as a juror. You are eligible for paid time off if you are called to jury or witness duty for up to four weeks. Any money you receive for such duty is yours to keep.

    Bereavement

    To provide you with time to make arrangements and attend services in the event that you suffer a death in your immediate family. Employees will receive three consecutive paid days off for bereavement time. To accommodate required travel time, an additional two days of paid bereavement leave will be provided if the services are held out of town.

    Employee Assistance Program (EAP)

    To assist you and your family if you or a family member is facing issues such as alcoholism, drug addiction, financial stress, marital problems, and other types of psychological, emotional and social difficulties. A professional company will provide confidential counseling and/or a referral for employees and their families.

    Tuition Reimbursement

    To encourage employees to pursue individual development and career growth. Reimbursement for 100% of tuition and study materials to a maximum of $2,000 per calendar year is available for undergraduate work at an accredited college or university. Reimbursement for 80% of tuition costs to a maximum of $3,500 per calendar year is available for graduate work at an accredited college or university.

    Insurance Industry Programs

    To aid and encourage employees to broaden their knowledge of insurance and to become more proficient in their jobs. GTL reimburses fees for tuition, registration fees, and books for the following Insurance Industry Programs:

      Life Office Management Association (LOMA)*
      International Claims Association (ICA)
      Health Insurance Association of America (HIAA)*
      American College of Life Underwriters (ACLU)
      Chartered Life Underwriter (CLU)
      * All registrations, book distributions, and exams for these programs are done on-site.
    Smoking Cessation Program

    To provide you with assistance when you decide to stop smoking. GTL will reimburse you up to $250 upon the successful completion of a smoking cessation program.

    Health Club Membership Reimbursement

    To help promote good health for our employees. The company will contribute $100 toward your annual health club membership on an annual basis.

    Benefits Open House

    To support your efforts to stay healthy. We provide our employees with an opportunity to speak to benefits representatives directly regarding health and benefits issues.
