California – Policyholders in Designated Wildfire Disaster Areas

In an effort to assist victims of the current wildfires throughout the state, Insurance Commissioner Dave Jones has requested all insurance companies to grant billing leniency for at least 30 days.  This means that in addition to the 31-day grace period already provided with your insurance coverage, an additional 31 days will be allowed to submit any premium which would now be due.  We realize you may not have access to your policy number, premium due date and the amount of premium due.  A GTL Customer Service Representative can assist with your questions and provide you with the information you need. You can speak with one of our representatives by calling us at 800-338-7452.

Illinois (Christian County) – Customers Adversely Affected by the Significant Storms on Dec. 1, 2018

Due to significant storms and tornados, Governor Rauner has declared Christian County a state disaster area.  So that disaster victims do not lose important insurance coverage, we have implemented the following safeguards for those customers affected by this event:

  • An extended grace period to pay premiums. For affected customers whose policies would otherwise lapse for nonpayment of premium, we will accept premiums as on time between November 23, 2018 through January 23, 2019.
  • An extension of at least 60 days more than any timeframe otherwise required by your policy for such things as submitting a claim or providing information needed to process a claim.

For questions on premium payment extensions and / or claim processing, please contact a GTL Customer Service representative at 1-800-338-7452.

Please remember that the Illinois Department of Insurance is available for filing a complaint regarding any disaster-related dispute or issue.  Consumers may call the Department’s toll-free complaint hotline at 1-866-445-5364, or file a complaint online at: https://mc.insurance.illinois.gov/messagecenter.nsf
